2nd Pregnancy: Waiting to Hatch- around 38 weeks

Are we really at 38 weeks?

Ready or not, baby's coming!

From my last visit to Dr. Tere--
60% effaced, 2 cm, soft posterior, station -2, more than enough fluid

BP steady at 100/70, total weight gained 22 lbs, waist 38in :D

I attempted to sew a blanket, but couldn't get around to doing it. So that means no personalized onesies either. Sorry, baby boy, will make it up to you. :D The household is slowly, slowly getting ready for our little one's arrival and we're all excited. :-)

Charlie Brown and Snoopy

My favorite brainless activity for a couple of months now:

Snoopy's Street Fair

Marion loves watching Charlie Brown and Snoopy cartoons.

"Bald means no hair." (Charlie Brown is bald.)

Reading a book I got her:

And we met some of the cast of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown! in the mall. :-)

Reminders and prayers for a frazzled mom

I first heard of Julian of Norwich back in college (Fr. J. T. Nolan) and was struck by this quote--

"I saw everything, and it was small, and I feared for it. Then I was given to know that it was loved."

Aah. What great comfort it is that God is my Maker, Keeper and Lover.

Here's another one: "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well."

St. Gianna B. Molla- a saint for mothers

Prayer of St. Gianna
Jesus, I promise You to submit myself to all that You permit to befall me,
make me only know Your will.
My most sweet Jesus, infinitely merciful God, most tender Father of souls, and in a particular way of the most weak, most miserable, most infirm which You carry with special tenderness between Your divine arms, I come to You to ask You, through the love and merits of Your Sacred Heart, the grace to comprehend and to do always Your holy will, the grace to confide in You, the grace to rest securely through time and eternity in Your loving divine arms.

Krispie Treats for Marion's teacher and classmates.

Shredded BBQ Pork for Rocky.

Fantastic food, music and company with Pinoy Eats World.
Thanks, Kuya Lito for the photo. :-)

I meant to make something similar to this for the hubby, but wasn't able to do so. So something sweet from the CruKitchen with my note. ;-D

Rocky got something for me from my wish list. :D

And another treat from him from my need- want- splurge list (c/o here) while we watched a movie at home. :D

My Sweet Hart and Darling with our Vday decor. :-)

Pulled Pork
(oh no, I don't remember where I got it. sorry.)

3- 4 lbs pork shoulder or pork butt
1 tsp salt
1 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
hamburger buns

BBQ Sauce:
1 Tbsp EVOO
2 bacon slices, diced
4 sprigs fresh thyme
1/2 onion
3 smashed garlic cloves
2 cups ketchup
1 cup peach preserves
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground paprika

Season pork with salt, ground pepper and garlic powder.
Heat a 2-count of oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the bacon & render the bacon fat. Add the onion, garlic & thyme leaves cooking slowly for 5 mins.
Add the rest of the sauce ingredients, stir & simmer. Cook slowly for 20 mins to meld the flavors. Pour BBQ into crockpot & add seasoned pork.
Cook in crockpot, on low for 6- 8 hrs or on high for 4- 6 hrs.

Notes: Recipe's very flexible. :-) Don't be scared to tweak. :-)

Krispie Treats
1/4 cup butter
4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups rice cereal

Melt butter over medium heat. Add mashmallows and stir until melted smooth. Remove from heat and stir in rice krispies. Press into prepared (buttered) pan lined with wax paper. Cool. Cut. Dip. Sprinkle.

Notes: Ready made chocolate dip was terrible :( Boo Sweet Craft for recommending it to me. I think they had to sell it (nearing expiry date), I should have known better. Oh well.

Marion's planning to be a very hands-on Achi. I just wasn't able to catch it in this video, but she'd even offer to help change his diaper, as in, "clean his lubut". We shall see. :D

2nd Pregnancy: Coming to term- 36 weeks

As I'm writing this, I have a pinch of Marion's play doh beside me. I'm using it as a stress ball.

We're around 35, 36 weeks now. Yikes!!! Was at Dr. Tere's clinic today and baby is low and ready. I am not. Yet. Dearest son, please take your time. Don't rush. :-) Your Daddy still wants to do our maternity shoot and I still have some work stuff to finish up. Give us at least 2 more weeks, please. :-)

And so we did our birth plan today. Everything the same as before except I am requesting for rooming- in.

I had to ask Dr. Tere to remind me when I needed to go to the hospital. The last time with Marion was a no-brainer since my water broke. I don't think I'll know it's time to go just by the contractions. I worry my tolerance for pain might be a bit high and I might not realize it's time to go to the hospital. (Worrywart. :D) I should relax and just focus on praying. :-)

My BP steady at 100/70. Total weight gained so far- 21lbs.

Let's see what's on my list of things to do at this point:
     1. Plan on how to celebrate Marion becoming an Achi.
     2. Get a few more stuff for baby- bath tub/accessories, grooming kit, baby boy clothes and socks
     3. Put everything in it's place- everything's been washed and vacuumed and cleaned, we just need to put it in the drawers and tables where they belong.
     4. Pack for the hospital.
     5. Look for a yaya!

     6. Get work stuff out of the way!! Finish up fast.
     7. Get a hold of my clutter at home. Sigh.
     8. Plan Rocky's birthday.
     9. Is there time to do some sewing and glue gunning?
     10. Slow down.
