Marco: One year and 3 months

Appointment with Dr. Pia last May 17, 2013
14- 15 months old. He wasn't due for a check up but I wanted to bring him in anyway. :-)

First time not to be on the baby weighing scale.

Weight: 9.5 kg
Height: 30 1/2 in
Head circumference: 46 1/2 cm
Immunization: MMR #1

I was so relieved to see that his weight gain is very good. :-)

Continue heraclene 1mg cap per day and for vitamins.
Check that vitamins has vitamin D (400iu/day).

Whole milk/full cream milk 24- 30 oz/day (or toddler formula but it is sweeter).
è I’ll try giving him whole/fresh milk half the time.
Give milk by cup/straw. Discourage bottle in bed. Off bottles before age 2. No sippy cups with juice.
è Uh oh. This will take some work.
Encourage self-feeding and meals with family.
Off bottle before age 2.
Brush teeth 3x/day.

Some developmental questions for 15 months:
* Can he walk backward?
     No. But he can stop and somewhat change directions.
* Scribbling?
     Yikes, I haven’t tried.
* Can he stack 2 cubes?
     Yikes, we haven’t checked. But he can stack rings.
* Words?
     He knows enough words… usually uses sounds to refer to things by sound like Moo for cow, Vroom for motorcycle, Ssss for snake. Ca= car, Deeh= there, Aah= up, Boh= ball. He also has specific words (sounds) for mom, dad, achi, ate, milk, water, food (namnam), car, motorcycle, puppy, cat, bird, cow, ball, there, light...
* Body parts?
     He knows head, shoulders, toes, eyes, ears, nose, belly button, tongue, fingers, teeth, hair, chin.
* Follows instructions?
     Yes, like arms up, wave, flying kiss, close eyes, open door, put it in the box, wipe your mouth, switch on the light.

The most "significant" development I noticed this month is Marco beginning to really assert himself. He likes playing outside the house, more specifically, riding his sister's tricycle. He would bang on the door (or roll around by the main door) pointing to the trike. Also, once he's all dressed for "pasyal" he gets very impatient to ride the car. Same goes for food or drinks. We were at a restaurant and he wanted a straw to drink from also.

Oh boy. :-)
